HOUSE RULES

 

1. INTRO MEMBERSHIP

 

  1. It is only possible to become an intro member if one studies in the municipality of Nijmegen or is a student elsewhere, unless the board decides otherwise;

  2. Intro membership at NSSV Aeolus runs from the start of the autumn course up to and including 31 January (autumn student), or from the beginning of the spring course up to and including 31 August (spring student);

  3. Intro members pay € 49 if they have a Student Sports Card from the Radboud Sports Center (RSC). This sports card must be valid before 1 October or 1 April, otherwise the intro membership costs € 89. This amount will be settled by direct debit as an autumn course on 1 November and as a spring course on 1 May;

  4. The intro membership can only be enjoyed once;

  5. As an intro member it is mandatory to complete an introductory course once consisting of a minimum of 3 teaching days. If the intro member has not been present on all course days, the board will decide whether the person may become a member after the course;

  6. If an intro member, who has not yet completed the course, wishes to use club material to complete the course, this must be done under the watchful eye of an Aeolus member;

  7. Intro members of NSSV Aeolus are allowed to use the club material freely after completion of the course;

  8. For autumn students, after six months of intro membership, they automatically become a member, unless they deregister at the end of the intro membership. The costs for the remaining membership are € 26;

  9. Private equipment may be stored in the clubhouse under the conditions of article 7.13;

  10. Intro members receive the newsletter “De Kraaijkrant”.

 

2. MEMBERSHIP

 

  1. It is only possible to become a member if one studies in the municipality of Nijmegen or is a student elsewhere and if one has completed the introductory course, unless the board decides otherwise.

  2. Membership at NSSV Aeolus runs from September 1 to August 31;

  3. The costs of a membership are € 115 per year, to be paid by direct debit around the beginning of November. If the member proves to be in possession of a valid Student Sports Card from the Radboud Sports Center (RSC) before 1 October, € 40 of this will be paid by the sports center;

  4. Members can perform a work action with / via Aeolus, which earns money. Of this, 60% of the amount earned goes to NSSV Aeolus. 40% is given to the member as financial compensation.

  5. Members of NSSV Aeolus are free to use the club material;

  6. Private equipment may be stored in the clubhouse under the conditions of article 7.13;

  7. If the member does not deregister as a member before September 1, the membership is automatically renewed for one year. The member must notify the secretary in writing or by e-mail.

  8. Members are obliged to indicate that they are no longer a student, as a result of which membership changes into reunion.

  9. Members receive the newsletter “De Kraaijkrant”.

 

3. REUNITY

 

  1. It is only possible to become a reunionist if you have been a member for at least one year;

  2. The reunion with NSSV Aeolus runs from September 1 to August 31;

  3. The costs of a reunion amount to the full amount of one year of membership without a sports card, to be paid by direct debit around the beginning of November.

  4. Reunion participants of NSSV Aeolus are free to use the club material;

  5. Private equipment may be stored in the clubhouse under the conditions of article 7.13;

  6. If the reunion member does not deregister as a reunion member before 1 September, the reunion membership will be automatically extended for one year. The cancellation must be made known to the secretary in writing or by e-mail.

  7. Reunion guests receive the newsletter “De Kraaijkrant”;

 

4. INTRODUCES

 

  1. Members have the option of bringing guests along to introduce them to surfing at NSSV Aeolus;

  2. Introductions are reported in advance to the board;

  3. The member takes full responsibility for the guest and the club material used;

  4. Introduces may only surf in the presence of an Aeolus member;

  5. Introducers pay € 10 per day if they are a student, otherwise € 15.

  6. Introduces can join a surfing event once to get acquainted with the association. For this they pay the above amount extra per day, whereby a standard weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) is counted as two days;

  7. The board determines when abuse is made of the introducé scheme;

  8. In case of abuse, the board can deprive a member of the right to bring along a guest;

  9. The possibility to bring guests along is open to reunion and intro members after completion of the course, under the same conditions as described in articles 4.2 to 4.8 above.

 

5. DONORS

 

  1. Donors of NSSV Aeolus pay an amount of their choice;

  1. Donors receive the newsletter “De Kraaijkrant”.

 

6. CLUB HOUSE KEY

 

  1. The names of members are on a list, which is at the counter in the RSC. Anyone on this list may get the club house key when they issue a student pass or ID;

  2. The key to the club house must be returned to the sports center immediately after use. If a member repeatedly fails to comply with this rule, the board has the option of removing the name of the member concerned from the key list;

  3. As long as outstanding payments have not been met, the board can also remove the name from the key list, so that the key may no longer be taken;

  4. The Aeolus member collecting the key from the RSC is fully responsible for the club house key and returning it to the RSC until the student card or ID is returned.

  5. If the club house key is lost, the costs for making a new key will be charged to the member whose ID or student card has been handed in at the sports center.

  6. The board members, the bus committee, the clubhouse commissioner and the chairman of the materials committee have their own keys. The name of everyone who has a key is kept in a list by the board. Each board or committee member is responsible for passing on his / her clubhouse keys to his / her successor. If the clubhouse key is lost, the same rule applies as for regular members;

  7. The possibility to collect the key is also open to reunion and intro members after completion of the course and reunion, under the same conditions as described in articles 6.1 to 6.6 above.

 

7. MATERIAL

 

  1. Surfing on material from NSSV Aeolus is entirely at your own risk;

  2. The use of club material for a course or clinic always has priority over the use of club material for free surfing if at least 3 sets remain for the beginners of NSSV Aeolus;

  3. In the event of an accident or damage, the materials committee must be immediately informed by means of the damage form;

  4. In the event of damage to Aeolus material, the costs to repair the damaged material or the depreciation of the material will be borne by the concerned Aeolus ID / members. The board and the materials committee decide whether and for what amount, up to a maximum depending on the status of the material, the member (s) involved is / will be held liable;

  • A status: daily value

  • B status: up to 50 euros

  • C status: up to 25 euros

The status of the material is determined by the materials committee based on the current value of the material and can be requested from them. This regulation applies to every part of the rigging (sail, mast, boom, mast base) and the board;

  1. The use of a nose protector and boom protector is not mandatory but recommended. When it is determined that hazardous damage could have been prevented when a nose protector and / or boom protector was used, the materials committee can, in consultation with the board, decide the full repair costs / depreciation of the damaged material at the expense of the member concerned. / members.

  2. If damage is caused by a guest, the Aeolus member responsible for this guest is liable in the same way as if this damage had been caused by him / herself. During the course and the working clinic under the supervision of the instructors, damage must only be paid if the material is handled negligently.

  3. Material from NSSV Aeolus may only be taken to other locations with the permission of the board (ie elsewhere than the Kraaijenbergse Plassen);

  4. Members who bring material from NSSV Aeolus to other locations outside of events are fully responsible for this material. In the event of damage, all costs to repair the damaged material or the depreciation of the material will be borne by the concerned Aeolus member (s);

  5. If the board or the materials committee advises a member not to surf due to excessive risks and this advice is not followed, the member is also fully responsible for the material during events and on the Kraaijenbergse Plassen. In the event of damage, the costs of repairing the damaged material or the depreciation of the material will be fully borne by the Aeolus member / members concerned, with the maximum current value of the material in question;

  6. Members may store one surfboard, three sails, two booms and two masts in the clubhouse. In the event of a lack of space in the clubhouse, the surplus of stored material can be removed or taken over by NSSV Aeolus, after the owner has been repeatedly requested by the materials committee to remove it himself. Small equipment such as pots and strings may not be left in the clubhouse;

  7. In consultation with the materials committee, a member can store more, provided there is enough space for this;

  8. Stowed material must be provided with a name by the owner himself;

  9. NSSV Aeolus is in no way responsible for the stored private material of members.

  10. For reunion and entry members who have completed the course, the same rules apply as for members, as described under Articles 7.1 to 7.13 above.

 

8. CLUB HOUSE, GROUND, BOAT AND TRAILER

 

  1. Only (intro) members / reunion members of NSSV Aeolus are allowed to use the terrain, clubhouse, boat and trailer;

  2. The site is private property;

  3. The trailer may only be used with the permission of the bus commission or the board in accordance with the drawn up trailer manual

  4. The boat may only be used in accordance with the prepared boat manual;

  5. Sailing in the boat and canoes is entirely at your own risk;

  6. Care must be taken to keep the clubhouse closed at all times. On departure and also while surfing;

  7. Material must be returned to the correct place in the clubhouse immediately after use.

 

9. BUS

 

  1. Members have the option to use the NSSV Aeolus bus in consultation with the bus committee. The costs associated with this depend on the purpose of the rental (article 9.13);

  2. Everyone who uses the bus will receive the bus manual and must have read it before driving the bus;

  3. Before use, the bus committee must be convinced of the driving skills of the driver in the Aeolus bus. It should be taken into account that when it is the first time that someone is going to drive the bus, a bus committee member may want to take a test drive with the person concerned in advance;

  4. The bus commission keeps a register of persons who are authorized to drive the bus. You may only ride the bus if he / she is registered in that register, unless the board decides otherwise;

  5. A reservation for the bus is only confirmed one day in advance at 12:00 noon. If there are several registrations for 1 day in advance, the bus will be allocated on the basis of the following priority list.

5. Non-Surfing Activities

  1. There is a maximum speed of 120 km / h. With a trailer it is not allowed to drive faster than 90 km / h. Failure to observe these speed limits can impose a fine of up to € 25 by the board;

  2. Fines are paid by the person who was driving at the time of the violation. The driver must agree with any passengers whether or not they will contribute;

  3. In the event of damage caused by members themselves, an excess of a maximum of € 500 applies. In the event of damage, the board decides in consultation with the bus committee whether or not to pay and the amount of the payment. This is determined on the basis of damage to the own bus and increased insurance premium after an accident;

  4. After use, the canister must be empty, swept and filled up. If this is not done, the bus commission can impose a fine of up to € 25;

  5. All problems with or damage to the bus are immediately reported to the bus committee upon delivery;

  1. The costs are debited to the member by direct debit;

  2. NSSV Aeolus is not liable for theft of members' belongings from the bus;

  3. For reunion and entry members who have completed the course, the same rules apply as for members, as described in articles 9.1 to 9.13 above.

 

10. EVENTS

 

  1. Members, reunions and guests are allowed to participate in Aeolus activities;

  2. For events, the rule applies that after the final registration date, the registration is fixed and the member is obliged to pay. The events committee has the right to make exceptions to this;

  3. Members with a debt greater than € 50 may no longer participate in events until the outstanding debt has been paid;

  4. Payment for events takes place by means of a continuous direct debit, provided that the board can make a personal exception for this with good reason.

  5. For reunion and entry members who have completed the course, the same rules apply as for members, as described under Articles 10.1 to 10.4 above.

 

11. SURFIN 'COMMISSION

 

  1. The Surfin 'committee acts under the supervision of the Aeolus board;

  2. A budget must be drawn up for the event by the Surfin 'Committee and approved by the Aeolus board;

  3. The financial risk and financial return of Surfin 'lie with NSSV Aeolus;

  4. Before, during and after the event, the Surfin 'committee is responsible for the course of the event and the use of the equipment and clubhouse.

 

12. ADVISORY BOARD

 

  1. The Advisory Council (RvA) is a committee that has an advisory role to the board;

  2. The RvA must be available for questions from the board;

  3. The RvA helps in the search for a new board and makes a suggestion for the division of duties;

  4. The advice given by the RvA must be included and discussed at a subsequent meeting of the board;

  5. To become a member of the RvA, one must be a reunion member / member of NSSV Aeolus and preferably a board member or at least a committee member at NSSV Aeolus;

  6. One is only an official member of the RvA if he has been inaugurated in an ALV. One is only a member of the RvA if the person has been discharged in an ALV;

  7. The board proposes a new RvA member;

  8. The RvA consists of at least 3 members and at most 5 members;

  9. Once every quarter, the board of NSSV Aeolus has a meeting with the RvA to discuss the past and coming quarter;

  10. The RvA as a committee has no voting rights during GMMs.

 

13. OTHER COMMISSIONS

 

  1. All committees must act on the terms of reference approved by the board of NSSV Aeolus.

 

14. ALV

 

  1. Each committee is obliged to be represented at the GMM by at least one committee member with the right to vote. Board members do not count in this. Each member can represent a maximum of one committee.

  2. The board may make exceptions to 14.1

  3. A member may be authorized by a maximum of 3 other members.

 

15. Other provisions

 

  1. When members, reunions and donors do not adhere to the HR or otherwise imposed by the board, there will be consequences. This includes taking material to other surf spots without the permission of the board, keeping material at home for longer than agreed with the board and misusing personal clubhouse keys. The board can impose a suspension of the clubhouse in case of non-compliance with these agreements. The board decides on the duration of the denial, depending on the seriousness of the violation.
